Project Hack has launched!

Hello, and thank you for joining me on this adventure! Project Hack is a brand-new blog about GM advice and hacking RPGs. As a GM and player of TTRPGs for over 35 years, I'm always interested in helping fellow GMs hone their craft. My friends rely on me as a resource in that regard, and I would like to share that resource - 35 years of making every GM mistake in the book and some I had to hunt down on my own - with anyone who will find it valuable.

This blog will be updated every Wednesday with articles to help GMs or about hacking RPGs. I will sometimes add news posts like this one as well, but I don't intend news to replace weekly content. Currently I'm posting a series on how to write an adventure for a classic fantasy RPG where the players portray wandering adventurers. This will publish in 5 installments, and once all 5 article sections are live, I will post the full article in one place as well.

I'm also in the process of writing a hack of Apocalypse World. I expect to be posting articles on this process interspersed with more general content. Hacking TTRPGs is a passion of mine, whether on the level of writing a new move or power customized to a specific character, or deconstructing an entire game system as my friend and I did in order to run a Legend of the Five Rings game using a custom Powered by the Apocalypse system.
